General Description:
To provide superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding service by providing invasive cardiovascular studies in a timely, safe and efficient manner. The specialist-RN is responsible for planning and administering the nursing activities of the patient, and will provide outstanding patient care with respect to patient expectations, cultural, spiritual and age specific individual needs. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient according to the standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting of the Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac Cath Lab Holding Room. The Invasive Specialist-RN will also be proficient in aspects of angiography, preparation, documentation, monitoring consistent with the policies and procedures of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and hospital administration, with responsibility to adhere to all the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

Key Requirements:
- Adheres to approved standards of aseptic technique during a Cardiac Cath Lab procedure, utilizing equipment and supplies in a safe and prudent manner.
- Utilizes knowledge and skills in giving safe and effective nursing care.
- Recognizes and communicates the electrocardiographic/hemodynamic changes to the physician and appropriate staff members throughout the procedure.
- Demonstrates ability to operate, problem-solve and improvise common equipment malfunctions.
- Communicates effectively and frequently with team members to share information and solve problems in a positive manner as observed by the Manager/Supervisor.
- Assists with cleaning of rooms, restocking and updating of supplies.
- Assists with development and implementation of departmental PI indicators and projects.
- Promotes interdepartmental/client relationships with positive interactive skills, and maintains a professional, team-orientated working environment.
- The primary duty of Invasive Specialist-RN is the professional performance of nursing care with secondary duties consisting of monitoring, recording, and scrubbing to be performed when availability indicates, depending on daily staffing makeup/skill level to be determined by the Manager/Supervior.
- Demonstrates and practices proper protection measures to minimize risk of exposure to possible hazardous materials.

Requirements:
Formal Education
- Associate's Degree, ADN or other Two Year College equivalent required. Major(s) required.
- Accredited R.N. Education required.
Work Experience:
- At least one (1) year experience as a RN
Required Licenses and Certifications;
- Clear/active state of Florida registered nurse (RN) licensure
- CCRN credentialing preferred.
- Current RCIS certification or obtain within 24 months of employment.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification
