General Description:
The Communications Specialist | Culture Keeper exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare and serves as Culture of Choice® ambassador and Parrish Healthcare "culture keeper". This role works with departmental leaders and internal teams (including but not limited to Human Resources, Recruitment, People Development, Game Plan teams and other internal teams or committees) to communicate new information and promote the Parrish Healthcare's mission, vision and values. The Specialist translates system strategies into key messages, develops appropriate internal communications initiatives in support of those strategies, and executes and drives programs that create excitement, drive engagement, align teams and shape culture. Utilizes knowledge of latest communications technologies and tools to execute communications strategies to multiple audiences and cultures through electronic, print and face-to-face approaches, including Parrish Healthcare's intranet. This position reports to the Manager, Communications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promotes and demonstrates Parrish Healthcare's Culture of Choice®. Participates in achievement of strategic goals and objectives by producing and implementing effective communication tactics and initiatives.
  • Strictly adheres to Parrish Healthcare's branding standards in all communications and assures Parrish Healthcare's brand consistency and integrity are maintained by others.
  • Support the iCare/intranet news channel through its lifecycle, developing content that includes images and graphics to generate interest, using content management system to post articles, and reviewing metrics to determine readership. Helps develop editorial calendar and ensures new content is posted on a regular basis.
  • Support leadership and corporate communications initiatives by creating content to drive employee engagement, recognize achievements and promote awareness of Parrish Healthcare programs, expectations, priorities, and initiatives for care partners.
  • Craft well-written, researched and high-impact communications to engage and inform employees through a variety of Parrish Healthcare channels, e.g. weekly employee newsletter, weekly Healing Moment Huddle Story, etc.
  • Manages review processes to ensure all communications are fully vetted and approved.
  • Coordinates internal care partner recognition events in collaboration with Human Resources (e.g. Hospital Week, Nurses' Week, Circle of Giving, etc.).
  • May be required to write executive communications for care partners.
  • Be a team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Performs similar and related duties as assigned. Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.

Requirements:

Formal Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Majors preferred: Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.

Work Experience:
  • > 3 years in marketing, advertising, public relations or related field. Healthcare experience preferred. Deadline-oriented with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
  • Accredited in Public Relations and/or Digital Marketing not required, but preferred/encouraged upon reaching 5 years of industry experience. Lean Sig Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
